Dr Hanna Kuchel is a Dermatologist with over ten years of clinical experience in the field. She is Australian-trained and a member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She is a past NSW Faculty Honorary Secretary.
Dr Kuchel graduated in medicine from the University of Sydney in 1996 with Honours. Prior to her clinical training in dermatology she completed a PhD titled ‘Mechanisms of Ultraviolet Radiation-Induced Immunosuppression in Humans’ through the University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She has presented a number of novel research papers at local and overseas conferences. Her dermatology training was undertaken in Sydney at the Children’s Hospital Westmead and Westmead Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst and in the United Kingdom, at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford.
She currently also works at the Skin Hospital, Darlinghurst (affiliated with the Skin and Cancer Foundation Australia). This is a teaching facility of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Dr Kuchel is actively involved in training junior dermatologists at this facility. She is currently the head Supervisor of Training, in addition to sitting on both the Research and Education committees. Dr Kuchel is the principal investigator for several clinical trials, studying the effectiveness of new biological agents for psoriasis and eczema.

DERMATOLOGIST QUALIFICATIONS
Dermatologists undertake a minimum of a further four years of full-time specialist postgraduate study after their basic medical degree. Maintenance of professional standards and new skills development is recognised through the professional development program of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Regular attendance at both national and international conferences is expected. A dermatologist’s expertise covers medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. The latest techniques and technology is used to treat skin diseases and skin cancers, to provide the best possible outcome.
